Designer and maker of fine contemporary furniture
Antony Jackson trades as Adept Designs Limited.
Adept Designs design and make fine contemporary furniture inspired by shapes in nature - harnessing the beauty that is inherent in timber.
Antony uses locally grown hardwoods whenever possible and also has an ecological awareness of products that are used within the business.
One of Antony's pieces, the Sunflower table, won the 'Furniture Design Awards' in 2001 at Alexandra Palace, London.
At a graduate show during the last year of his degree, Antony won the Contract Furnishing Association's 'Future of Design' award. Part of the prize was a 10 day trip to Dubai where he also exhibited his unique designs.
Previous exhibitions have included Hill House, near Glasgow. Hill House was designed by one of the most celebrated architects of the 19th Century, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Antony said "it was amazing, Mackintosh was incredibly multi-talented, he incorporated his unique style into so many different facets, from fabrics to furniture, glass to ceramics. It was a really amazing experience to see the pieces I had designed and created displayed in such a creative environment. Mackintosh took a great deal of his inspiration from organic and floral shapes, which is my inspiration too" said Antony.
Antony regularly exhibits with The Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft.
