Ralph Jandrell
Maker of fine studio ceramics
Based in the heart of Shropshire, in the picturesque Ironbridge Gorge, Ralph Jandrell makes a unique range of handmade ceramics in his workshop at Coalport China Museum, continuing the tradition of ceramic excellence established there over many years. His work has become widely collected. See Ralph and his work at the major ceramics shows throughout the year.
Ralph set up his own studio called Ralph Jandrell Pottery in 1997 at Coalport China Museum, near Ironbridge, Shropshire. He makes a range of handmade ceramics decorated with his own designs. Each pot is either thrown or cast from a thrown original, and hand painted with liquid clay slips. The pot is then glazed and fired to a high earthenware temperature.
Inspiration for his work comes from the Shropshire countryside - living and working in the Ironbridge Gorge cannot help but inspire an interest in trees!
