De Mont and Wright
Textile Artist
Steve Attwood-Wright is a textile artist and tutor based in the Kerry Hills in the Wales/Shropshire Marches and trades as De Mont and Wright.
Working with 60" wide cloth looms and a heavy rug loom, Steve is intrigued by unusual fabric structures and effects and uses modern materials to create double cloths as well as 3 dimensional cloths.
The inspiration for Steve's work comes from the rhythm and colours of the changing seasons, music and poetry.
Steve has also successfully runs workshops for children and adults for over 30 years, including 20 years as weave tutor at Middlesex University. Workshops are available for schools, groups, children and adults. Workshops will need to be booked in advance.
Group visits to the studio by request. Steve also has a collection of 16 shaft looms for workshops including a George Wood Dobby Loom.
Sarn based Steve also creates outdoor art works and labyrinths and has a small woodland plantation and wildflower meadow for creative projects and seasonal celebrations.
