Chrissie Menzies

I am a Textile Artist working from my studio on our small farm in the hills of Montgomeryshire, Wales.

I work mainly using wet felting techniques & Botanical eco printing, producing a range of unique handcrafted felted bags, felt & fabric rucksacks & botanical printed scarves, wraps & lampshades using natural materials & sustainable practices.

Being a passionate gardener, I can use the wonderful leaves & flowers from my beautiful garden for botanical printing, supplemented by favourite leaves such as Walnut.

Colour is a huge influence in my work. I love playing with colours, teaming them together & draw a lot of inspiration from my garden & the Welsh hills around me.

I have been a Feltmaker for over 10 years & am constantly learning, taking classes with international Feltmakers to find new techniques to include in my own work. My Botanical printing journey started with an online course with Nicola Brown in Ireland, followed by a course with Caroline Nixon in the Cotswolds, both using different techniques.
