Judith Gilchrist

Jude is a weaver working under the name Loomin Marvellous. Her practice is rooted in traditional handweaving, with a contemporary approach to colour, texture and pattern. Using rigid heddle, inkle and multishaft looms, Jude creates woven textiles that celebrate the beauty of structure, slow making and thoughtful design.

Inspired by landscape, heritage craft and the rhythm of the loom, her work balances practicality with quiet individuality. Alongside her own weaving, Jude is passionate about sharing skills and encouraging confidence at the loom. She teaches small, supportive groups, guiding students at every stage of their weaving journey and helping them develop both technical understanding and creative voice.
